Mobikon – Messe Frankfurt repositions mobile business event

  • Mobikon to supplement the range of digital events with an exhibition for the mobile business

mobile-device-ontheway-mobil-smartphone-logoMesse Frankfurt is repositioning its exhibition for the mobile industry and replacing M-Days – Specialised Exhibition with Integrated Conference for the Mobile Business – which has been held in Frankfurt am Main since 2011 by Mobikon, Mobile Business Exhibition and Conference. “Mobikon succeeds the M-Days, the concept of which was rather dated in some respects. Together with a more modern marketing policy, a more professional conference supported by an advisory council and the expansion of the greater internationalisation revolving around ‘Mobile Africa’ introduced this year, aims to give this innovative format a fresher look”, says Iris Jeglitza-Moshage, Senior Vice President, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition, explaining the new concept.

Next year, the mobile business event will be held on 11 and 12 May 2015, i.e., Monday and Tuesday, instead of Tuesday and Wednesday as in the past. Moreover, there will be an international opening event to mark the fair’s fifth anniversary in Frankfurt. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Mobile Monday, the world’s biggest mobile community, members of the 150 Chapters from all around the world will meet on the Sunday (10 May) for their MobileMonday Global Summit and a public Mobile Solutions presentation on both days of Mobikon. Following Helsinki and Kuala Lumpur, this is the first time the global mobile summit is being held in Frankfurt am Main. The previous advisory council is being supplemented by experts from different user segments. A second group of experts is exclusively responsible for curating the conference programme.

Naturally, Mobikon will not abandon any of the successful M-Days highlights in 2015. Praised by all exhibitors and visitors, the new concept of a conference hub integrated into the exhibition concept will be continued and expanded. And, as the reference event for the mobile business in Germany and the other German-speaking countries, the presentation of the Best of Mobile Awards (BoM) given by the Haymarket publishing company will once again be an attention-grabbing event.

Today, mobile strategies are a must in many companies and, for the professional planning and implementation of such strategies in the various mobile areas of application, Mobikon has structured its conference programme and product groups in six core areas called ‘business clusters’: Mobile Internet & Apps, Mobile Marketing & Advertising, Mobile Commerce & Mobile Payment, Mobile Enterprise & Business Solutions, Mobile Security & Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT) & Wearables.

“The Internet of Things is developing rapidly into one of the biggest driving forces in the mobile world. To do justice to it, we are linking the IoT segment with wearables to create a supplementary area of application in the Mobikon spectrum”, says Iris Jeglitza-Moshage.

For Messe Frankfurt exhibitors and visitors, Mobikon is an interdisciplinary event that gives them the opportunity to keep up with developments in the digitalisation of business life. Thus, the Mobikon conference and programme of events is an excellent source of knowledge for members of staff responsible for mobile applications in sales, marketing, production and administration.

The original digital business of Messe Frankfurt is also integrated into the Mobikon concept.
