Mobikon exhibitors present topical mobile applications

The Mobikon exhibition brings together over 100 companies that will show their mobile innovations, solutions and trends: they include, for example, payments specialist PayPal and app store analytics provider App Annie as well as two leaders from the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM): AirWatch and MobileIron. All exhibitors are to be found in the exhibitor search engine on the Mobikon website at www.mobikon.com/exhibitors-2015.

This year, Mobikon sets its topical focus on proximity and start up companies on behalf of which two special areas are set up in hall 11: In theProximity Area, visitors may experience novelty applications of  Nearfield Communication (NFC) standards as well as of the beacon technology. The exhibition area is driven by member companies of the pioneering NFC-industry initiative Smart Media Alliance as well as by German writing utensils manufacturer Schneider Schreibgeräte GmbH and e-business solution provider 1eEurope GmbH. The YUMP-Area is the place to meet Young Urban Mobile Professionals, who will be showing their innovative business cases and services. Around ten start up entrepreneurs from Berlin, Munich, Poland’s capital Warsaw and from the city of Cham in Switzerland will be on site.

Mobile initiatives and first-class networking

More mobile for small to medium-sized companies: the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie – BMWi) is once again taking part in this year’s event with its ‘Mittelstand Digital’ area to promote IT-generated efficiency among small to medium-sized companies whereby the emphasis is on three initiatives for digital business life: e-competence network, e-standards and usability. The ‘Mittelstand Digital’ area is the setting for presentations by 68 companies and projects, as well as a two-day conference programme. Additionally, Secretary of State Matthias Machnig of the BMWi will take part in the conference panel on the Digital Agenda.

In addition to numerous lectures, workshops and expert discussions on the stand, the DO MOBILE! Initiative des German Digital Business Federation (Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft – BVDW) offers guided tours to two highlights: proximity and Internet of Things (IoT). With the DO MOBILE! Area, the BVDW aims to bring the mobilisation of the internet to life for visitors and provide a focused platform for knowledge transfer and the exchange of information.

More internationality: the worldwide MobileMonday movement is holding its Global Summit at this year’s Mobikon, the first time in Germany. MobileMonday chapters from all over the world have announced their participation. At the ‘Pow Wow’ lecture area, MobileMonday will hold a series of deep-knowledge lectures and networking opportunities with ‘mobile natives’ on both Mobikon days.

It’s party time – at the presentation of the Best of Mobile Awards (BoM) at the Event stage in Hall 11 and at ‘Mobile rocks!’, the exhibitor party on the evening of the first day (11 May) in Frankfurt’s popularGibson Club. The awards are given for the best apps, websites, service and campaigns, which would have been inconceivable without the mobile internet. At the party in the Gibson Club in downtown Frankfurt, participants can let their hair down or chat in a relaxed fashion.
