Just in time to the opening of Ambiente ( February 10th to 14th 2017 ) Messe Frankfurt presents its updated Navigator Apps for visitors and exhibitors with a lot of new features.

Optimized usability for the digital trade fair experience
The focus of this update is on optimized usability to provide users with even easier access to the key features including the exhibitor search, a watchlist of “favorites” integrated in the map of the exhibition grounds, beacons and improved event features. With this new version, the trade fair is thus responding to user requests for more intuitive use. At the same time the event organizer is remaining on the cutting edge and continuing the development of its digital offering with version 4.0.
In addition to this, Messe Frankfurt has taken this opportunity to refine the basic functions already provided by the app and offer visitors and exhibitors even easier access to the benefits of digital preparation and follow-up before, during and after the fair. Challenges that every experienced trade fair visitor is familiar with – “How do I get the new business contacts in my address book?” “How do I manage my appointments during the trade fair without missing one and without having to search the venue for a long time beforehand?” – are made super simple with the Navigator app. The new app enables users to visit the trade fair in the digital world including individual preparation, while providing exhibitors with the ideal platform for extending their physical stand into the virtual realm to increase visibility among their target groups.
Business on the go
The “Nearby” feature indicates beacons, which can send useful additional information to a user’s smartphone about exhibitors or exhibits in their immediate vicinity. A particularly convenient feature is the app’s ability to store the received files so users can read them later. This does away with the need to carry heavy briefcases full of informational material around the trade fair grounds all day. What’s more, the important business contacts no longer have to be entered by hand from business cards. The integrated QR code scanner can read out exhibitor contact information and copy the data right into the user’s own address book. This turns smartphones and tablets with the Navigator app into digital address and document storage units for successful trade fair follow-up.
Smart preparation is half of trade fair success
The new version of the app also makes preparation a breeze. Visitors can not only use the interactive map to click on each exhibitor’s profile, but also view companies they have previously saved in their watchlist of favorites. The trade fair login allows for synchronising watchlists from the web and the app, so visitors can choose the exhibitors they would like to visit no matter whether they are using the smartphone, desktop PC, etc. Events, presentations and competitions at the show can also be noted and even copied into the user’s own calendar including a reminder and indication of the location. Using these new features, it is easy for visitors to digitally plan their trade fair visit in advance and then visit the exhibitors and events that interest them most without wasting any time. During Ambiente, their smartphone with the Navigator app serves as a personal event schedule, communication and guide all in one.
Social media hub for comprehensive networking
The offering is rounded off with the newly added “burger menu”. This menu provides trade fair visitors with a compact overview of important additional information about arrival and departure, trade fair opening hours, etc. Accessibility and parking information are also included here. The burger menu will be developed on an ongoing basis. Information on accommodations, for example, is also in planning. The new Navigator App will therefore make use of a wide range of mobile options and provide its users decisive benefits by smoothly integrating the digital and physical trade fair worlds.
