Inspiring, tactile and on the pulse of the industry: on January 13th, the Heimtextil trade fair in Frankfurt am Main once again came to a close with a successful balance. Some bloggers were on site to report on the event for you.

During the 4 trade fair days, almost 70,000 international trade fair visitors visited the leading trade fair for home and contract textiles to gain information on trends and new products. Among them were celebrity guests and start designers like Eva Padberg, Harald Glööckler and Michael Michalsky. For the opening of Heimtextil, top model Eva Padberg spoke with Detlef Braun about the trends of the season, the topic of sustainability and the commonalities of fashion and interior design.  Harald Glööckler presented his new collection “Glööckler Imperial” at the Marburg Wallcoverings stand. The designer Michael Michalsky also personally presented his new collection in collaboration with the wallpaper manufacturer A.S. Création. Singer Dynelle Rhodes (Weather Girls) and the radio presenter Felix Moese provided musical accompaniment for the event.

Sleeping as a lifestyle and the new materiality

And of course bloggers were on site again this year to report on the textile innovations and designs exhibited across 20 hall levels. The two top trends of the trade fair were the topics of “materiality” and “sleeping as a lifestyle”. Home textiles like curtains, rugs and cushions decorate domestic walls in the new season, whereas bare floors and walls have become passé. Following nutrition and fitness, sleeping is the new lifestyle topic as evidenced by multiple innovations in the product area.
