Networking in times of crisis

The contact restrictions as a result of the coronavirus pandemic are having a massive impact on the topic of networking in business. Therefore, personal interaction at trade fairs, in workshops, in seminars and at business dinners can no longer take place. Digital tools can help you not to lose sight of things in this time of crisis.

September 2020

With the networking tool “connect!” in its Navigator apps, Messe Frankfurt is offering B2B companies an opportunity to expand and nurture their network outside the trade fair. Whether exhibitors or trade visitors, companies can use the app to identify and bring together relevant and interesting contacts. The networking tool will be made available for the first time for the Automechanika Sneak Preview. Training and workshops have been an integral part of Automechanika Frankfurt for years.

True to the motto “Stay in touch now more than ever”, Messe Frankfurt is launching a digital offensive for the customers of Automechanika Frankfurt. From 10th September, the Automechanika team will offer online training with live streams and videos. To tide users over until Automechanika 2021 and make sure they don’t lose contact, they can use the exhibitor and product search feature to find the latest new products and trends in the industry. Also, it allows you to look for new business opportunities, exchange ideas with other professionals and network with new leads.

Alternative digital solutions

Soon after the contact restrictions due to COVID-19 were announced, Messe Frankfurt started testing alternative digital solutions. Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd, for example, spontaneously offered webinars to support the industry players as quickly as possible in this exceptional situation. Via the Conzoom Solutions platform, regular webinars on the current topics in the consumer goods industry are offered for customers of Christmasworld. Initial experience with digital events was also gained by Mesago Messe Frankfurt in Stuttgart with “EMV goes digital”. And Messe Frankfurt, Inc. in Atlanta with the “Virtual Edition” of the trade fair trio Texworld USA, Apparel Sourcing USA and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo. Messe Frankfurt is currently working around the world on digital formats that will serve its customers as a long-term addition to and extension of the physical trade fair experience.

Messe Frankfurt will then launch the concept of hybrid trade fairs in November. Hypermotion will take place both physically at the Frankfurt exhibition centre and digitally. More details will be available shortly.
