Digital and hybrid events offer companies new presentation possibilities

Greater customer reach and new leads – sustainably – these are the things that companies are looking for when they exhibit at a trade fair or other business event. Messe Frankfurt’s experiences with digital events during the coronavirus pandemic have shown that digital services can help companies meet these objectives. The result: marketing services that organisers can offer their exhibitors over the long term to help them optimise their presentations in the digital arena as well.

More than 150 web sessions held by exhibitors at ISH digital 2021

In 2021, ISH took place entirely online on account of the pandemic. The digital event platform featured exhibitor and product information within the personal online profiles, networking opportunities and a comprehensive event calendar with live streams and on-demand offers. The presentations from exhibiting companies were a core element of the high-calibre supporting programme. Three streaming channels were set up for exhibitors to showcase their products, innovations and concepts for the plumbing, heating and air-conditioning sector. Over 150 web sessions supplemented the ISH digital programme with content supplied directly by exhibitors either live or in the form of on-demand videos. This gave exhibitors the opportunity to establish a presence and speak directly to their target groups even without taking part in a physical trade fair.
These opportunities should become a permanent part of Messe Frankfurt’s service portfolio – as they will be in the upcoming Automechanika Frankfurt Digital Plus and Hypermotion Frankfurt, which are being held as hybrid events from 14 to 16 September.

All the most important company and product information online – even after the event is over

During ISH digital, a total of 290 hours of content was showcased from 22 to 26 March 2021, including content supplied directly by exhibitors. Unlike with purely physical product presentations directly at the exhibition stand, digital content can be consumed more than once. The on-demand programme makes it possible to view content whenever it is convenient – I’m not tied to a particular time, and it can even be after the event has concluded. Recordings of all the live sessions were uploaded to the event platform and remained available for approx. four weeks. Participants have more time in the digital realm to take advantage of all the opportunities and content on offer. Thanks to the expanded time frame made possible by supplemental digital services, the topics featured at an event achieve greater reach.

New ‘marketing headquarters’ compiles data to simplify and accelerate presentation across all channels

The Media Package Manager is the ‘marketing headquarters’ for exhibitors at Messe Frankfurt. This practical online tool allows companies to edit their own profiles and update them whenever necessary – around the clock. All relevant company information, product photos and videos are stored centrally and published in Messe Frankfurt’s marketing channels – including the printed catalogue, event website, navigator app and digital event platform. Even after an event has concluded, this information will remain available online and on the event website throughout the year until the event platform is closed. This extends the reach of exhibiting companies beyond registered trade visitors. Analyses of the ways in which materials on Messe Frankfurt websites are used demonstrate that the exhibitor and product search functions are popular research tools throughout the year.

Streaming studio on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds lets companies go online

Be it for a press conference, awards ceremony, employee communications or presenting a new product: the streaming studio on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds gives companies the chance to stay in contact with their target groups – digitally, easily and professionally. Companies can hold their own digital events or create their own video productions and make them available through a variety of online channels (including social media) as live streams and on-demand videos. The studio is fully equipped, allowing companies to satisfy any of their communication needs quickly and easily.
