Our transport system is on the cusp of a radical transformation. Driven by digitalisation and decarbonisation, the barriers separating logistics, mobility, infrastructure, traffic and transport are falling. New, networked, integrated and multimodal systems and solutions are being created. To highlight these changes and to discuss their impact on society and the economy, Messe Frankfurt will be organising the first Hypermotion from 20 to 22 November 2017.
The event will focus on new business models as well as exchange and networking among all participants—from established companies from the transport and logistics sector to small companies, start-ups, mobility pioneers and entrepreneurs. You can look forward to a wealth of exhibitions, conferences and workshops as well as the Hypermotion Lab including pitches, talks and a hackathon. Messe Frankfurt will be providing orientation using tools like the trade fair app and a specially programmed Alexa skill that presents details pertaining to exhibitors and the trade fair programme.
Smart networking is not only a focus of the exhibition part of Hypermotion. The accompanying top-notch conference series will include discussions amongst 150 renowned speakers and experts on the topics of digital transformation, intelligent transport systems and intermodality as impetus for networking and engaging in an exchange of knowledge. Hypermotion will be bringing established companies together with small start-ups. As such, the trade fair will offer a platform for start-ups to make direct contact during their foundation and development phase with potential partners in the industry, who can help them accelerate their growth and give them honest feedback on their product. Hypermotion provides start-ups the special opportunity to pitch their products or ideas to industry experts. In addition to initial non-binding talks at the fair, this can open up additional possibilities for future partnerships.
Another trade fair highlight is the hackathon, which Messe Frankfurt will be organizing at Hypermotion with the support of hack.institute from Cologne. According to the slogan “Next Generation Mobility”, Hypermotion will bring together the new generation of software, hardware and UX specialists seeking to conquer the market with their innovative concepts. Developers, engineers and designers can experiment here with exciting technology including Microsoft’s Hololens virtual reality gear, make new contacts and measure their skills in a friendly competition. Three partners from the fields of mobility and logistics are supporting the hackathon by providing hardware and data interfaces, defining the challenges, serving as part of the jury, and contributing cash prizes and rewards.
With this new concept, Hypermotion is combining exhibitions and conferences with talks, a hackathon and start-up pitches. As such, it is providing an inspiring framework for a more intensive exchange between start-ups and established industry partners, while demonstrating a potential interface between the new and old economies—a true win-win situation.
